Samsung has officially kicked off its One UI 8.5 beta program, and it brings several new features that enhance productivity, privacy and performance. Photo Assist now allows for unlimited image generation while also supporting continuous edits and edit history.
Quick Share gets face recognition and can suggest sharing photos with people who are in them. Samsung is also updating its cross-device sharing with the updated Audio Broadcast and Storage Share.
Audio Broadcast allows users to share audio with nearby Bluetooth LE Audio devices using Auracast. The feature also supports voice broadcasting via your phone’s microphone, which Samsung is advertising as ideal for guided tours and events.
Storage Share allows you to view files from other Galaxy devices like tablets, PCs and TVs via the My Files app.
Samsung is also doubling down on device protection via Theft Protection and Failed Authentication Lock.
The One UI 8.5 beta will be available for the Galaxy S25 series in Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK and the U.S. starting today. As usual, users will need to apply for the beta program via the Samsung Members app.
