The new wave of thin phones started at the top, but there are already mid-range versions. Motorola’s is called the Moto X70 Air and it measures a hair under 6mm thick and weighs 159g.

The phone has a 6.7” screen, a 120Hz OLED with 1220p+ resolution. It’s a flat panel with 4,500 nits peak brightness and a 50MP selfie camera punch-holed into it. There’s a fingerprint reader below it too.

While not as thin as premium models like the Galaxy S25 Edge and iPhone Air, the Motorola has a bigger battery – 4,800mAh with 68W fast wired and 15W wireless charging to boot. For comparison, the Samsung has 3,900mAh capacity and the Apple phone has a 3,149mAh battery.

Additionally, the metal frame of the X70 Air has been reinforced to survive being dropped on the floor at different angles. And it is rated IP68 and IP69 for submersion and resistance against hot water jets.

The back is available in several Pantone colors: Gadget Gray, Lily Pad and Bronze Green. Each is paired with an accent color for the rings around the camera modules and the Power button on the side.

The camera department boasts a 50MP main module with a Samsung sensor (which one is unclear) and a 50MP 120° ultra-wide camera.

The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, which is accompanied by a 3D vapor chamber for cooling, 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256/512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. There’s no microSD slot or a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Motorola Moto X70 Air is listed on Lenovo.com in China, but there is no price yet. This should be filled in soon and a global launch is just around the corner, judging by recent leaks. Note that the global variant will likely sell under the Motorola Edge 70 name.
