If you think your Galaxy Ring is getting tighter, you might want to check for a bulging battery

The one thing you don’t want to experience with your device is a failing battery. Not only can it shorten the lifespan of your product, but it can also become dangerous if the battery begins to show physical changes.

While it’s not all that common, we have seen quite a bit of this over the past year, with a surprising number of Google Pixel products being affected, Anker going through its own problems with its power banks, and now Samsung might also be having an issue as well.

Could this be the start of something?

While there aren’t a ton of reports out there yet, some folks are chiming in about their Samsung Galaxy Ring’s swelling, which is actually pretty serious considering that it’s a product that fits snugly on your finger. In some cases, this is reportedly happening just a few weeks from purchase.

ZoneofTech on X also posted some photos of an incident with the Galaxy Ring, swelling before a planned flight. In the end, the ring was removed at a hospital and ZoneofTech has sworn off wearing smart rings.

It’s unclear at the moment what is going on, or how many people are affected. But if you’re using a Galaxy Ring, it’s probably a good idea to be a little cautious, and maybe even contact Samsung to get advice on how to move forward.

Samsung hasn’t issued any official statement with regard to this issue, but you can bet it will have something ready if this problem starts to gain traction. Again, for now, it doesn’t seem to be all that widespread, with just a couple of reports.

However, one thing that is popping up a lot is that the Galaxy Ring battery begins to lose charge after some use. You can head to the Galaxy Ring subreddit and you’ll see tons of reports on how the battery life of the product suddenly drops.

Luckily, within warranty, Samsung is taking care of this issue by providing replacements, but some folks aren’t really confident with the device, feeling that the battery should last a lot longer. If you have a Galaxy Ring, let us know your experiences with the device in the comments.
