I can’t stop thinking about Logitech’s radical Superstrike gaming mouse

I’ve seen it all when it comes to gaming mice–RGB lighting, all types and shapes of buttons, and super-fast sensors that feel instantaneous. So it’s with a bit of excitement that I laid eyes on Logitech’s newest gaming mouse.

Unveiled at the Logitech G Play event this year, the Logitech G Pro X2 Superstrike mouse is not playing to the tried-and-true mantra. No, this mouse is showing off some industry-first innovation: it has analog mouse clicks without any moving parts.

Most mice have mechanical switches. An analog clicking mechanism, however, allows for adjustable actuation points, enabling greater customization of a mouse click. Without a physical clicking mechanism, though, there’s nothing to tell the player that a click has been made.

What Logitech has done with the X2 Superstrike is include a haptic inductive triggering system. That means the mouse has an analog click but uses haptic feedback to convey the feel of a click, even though there are no moving parts.

The result is pretty neat. The Superstrike gives you 10 levels of actuation and five rapid trigger reset levels, allowing you to personalize your clicks any way you want. In short, you can fine-tune your click actuation to fit your exact gaming preferences–you can set the mouse to respond to the lightest of touches or the hardest of presses. It’s up to you.

There’s also a rapid trigger mechanism that allows the buttons to reset the moment you release pressure on them, giving a potential boost to speed. How much of a speed boost remains to be seen, but Logitech claims the tech in the Superstrike can reduce click latency by 30 milliseconds, which, if you’re a competitive gamer, can make all the difference.

The rest of the mouse looks super elite, too. It’s rocking a sensor with a maximum 44,000 DPI resolution, 88G acceleration, and 888 inches-per-second (IPS) maximum tracking speed. It also has an 8kHz polling rate for the quickest reporting.

The design is similar to the Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2, so it’s sure to have the streamlined, precise pointer accuracy that I’ve come to expect from Logitech G mice. The company also promises a weight of just 2.29 ounces.

The X2 Superstrike is coming in Q1 2026. Now all I have to do is hang out and wait for it to arrive.
