Huawei held a product launch event in Dubai today where it introduced the Mate X7 for the global market. Alongside the foldable, Huawei also announced global availability for three other devices – the FreeClip 2 earbuds, the Watch Ultimate Design smartwatch and the MatePad 11.5 S 2025 tablet.
Huawei FreeClip 2
FreeClip 2 were already announced in China earlier this year as the successor to 2023’s original FreeClip. The new model follows a similar approach in terms of design, with a C-shaped design that sits on your ears.
FreeClip 2 get 10.8 mm dual-diaphragm drivers alongside Huawei’s third-generation audio chip and a dedicated NPU AI processor, which allows for adaptive volume and voice enhancements. Huawei is also promising improved volume and bass performance, as well as updated call noise cancellation powered by triple microphones.
The buds are IP57 rated against dust and water and Huawei claims you can get up to 38 hours of total battery life with the charging case. The case supports both wired charging via the USB-C port as well as wireless top-ups.
Huawei FreeClip 2 come in Blue, White and Black colors and will retail for €200/£180. They will be available from January 21.
Huawei Watch Ultimate Design Royal Gold Edition
Watch Ultimate Design Royal Gold Edition is a refreshed version of the original Watch Ultimate2 with an updated choice of materials. This includes an industry-first rare-earth purple ceramic bezel matched with 18-carat gold detailing. That’s paired with a zirconium-based liquid metal case and a purple-gold titanium alloy strap.
Huawei Watch Ultimate Design Royal Gold Edition
The rest of the specs include a 1.5-inch LTPO 2.0 AMOLED display, Huawei’s Kirin W80 chipset, and an 867 mAh battery rated at up to 11 days of usage. Watch Ultimate Design retains the 150m waterproofing (20 ATM) from the Ultimate 2 and underwater sonar-based communication.You also get Huawei’s TruSense health system and X-Tap sensor for quick and accurate health metrics across 11 health readings, including ECG.
The watch boots HarmonyOS 5.1 and supports eSIM and dual-band GPS positioning. You can also get on-device calling and music playback.
The Royal Gold Edition Watch Ultimate will cost an eye-watering €3,300/£3,000 and will be available from January 15.
MatePad 11.5 S 2025
The MatePad 11.5 S 2025 was originally announced in China back in August and is built around an 11.5-inch IPS LCD with 2,800 × 1,840 px resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. It supports stylus input via Huawei’s M-Pencil Pro and is outfitted with quad speakers.
There’s no info on the chipset. The tablet is available with 12GB RAM and 256/512GB storage. There’s a 13MP rear-facing camera and an 8MP front-facing shooter. The battery comes in at 8,800 mAh and supports 40W charging.
MatePad 11.5 S comes in Field Green, Feather Sand Purple, Frost Silver, and Deep Space Gray colors. It will retail for €480/£350 and will also be available from January 15.
