Timi is a news and deals writer who’s been reporting on technology for over a decade. He loves breaking down complex subjects into easy-to-read pieces that keep you informed. But his recent passion comes from finding the best discounts on the internet on some of the best tech products out right now.

YouTube Music might not be the first option for everyone, but it’s a pretty solid streaming service if you give it a chance. And Google does a pretty good job of adding new features, keeping the service fresh, like being able to share your favorite lyrics from a song with friends.

YouTube Music hosts a wide range of genres, and even has a huge library from international catalogs as well. And while you can groove and sing to your favorites from around the world, wouldn’t it be nice to be able to understand that lyrics while you’re listening to the music?

    Convenient and seamless

It looks like that’s now becoming a reality, as YouTube Music is rolling out a limited test of a lyric translation feature. This feature was spotted by Android Authority, and will allow users to translate lyrics within the app using machine translation.

However, there does seem to be limitations with the feature, since it only allows translation to the system language of the device for now. So if your system language is set to English, it will auto translate the lyrics into English.

Another thing to note is that this feature is currently only available for YouTube Premium users. So if you’re not paying for a subscription, you won’t be able to see this setting. While it’s not a huge deal, it’s a nice feature to have, especially if you listen to a lot of foreign music.

Of course, you can always grab some lyrics from a website and translate them using Google Translate, but it will take some extra steps. If you want to take a look to see if you have access to this feature, head into the Lyrics section, and see if there’s a “translate” button available.
