Ahead of its global rollout on October 15, vivo has begun teasing the new features and improvements coming with OriginOS 6.
vivo shared two videos with us that showcase the improvements in UI smoothness and a new design for the animated island around the front camera cutout. The upgraded design uses AI to improve interactions.
In the video above, we can see that the transitions, app launches, switching between apps, and other UI navigation actions appear smooth and fast.
Meanwhile, the second video shows a new design to the island notification feature that works similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island. However, with OriginOS 6, the island will use AI to offer intuitive actions based on the app.
In the video, vivo shows the example of the Gallery app, where the island shows easy sharing options when you drag a photo to the island.
For the first time, OriginOS will expand beyond China, where it has so far remained exclusive. vivo will officially unveil the OriginOS 6, based on Android 16, in China on October 10, with the global launch set for October 15.
