We’re getting closer and closer to the next major Samsung release, and as is usual, it looks like the Samsung Galaxy S26 range will be kicking off 2026 with a trio of flagship smartphones.
We’ve had no shortage of whispers, rumors, and leaks about Samsung’s next flagship series, but now it seems the phones specs are being finalized, if a report from ET News is to be believed (via SamMobile). And unfortunately for Samsung fans, it’s not looking like particularly welcome news.

Rumors have been all over the place where Galaxy S26 camera setups are concerned, with leaks claiming everything from big upgrades for the main sensor, to downgrading telephoto lenses. Now, a report from Korean outlet, ET News is claiming to have the final specs for the Galaxy S26 range’s cameras — and it’s not great news for fans, as the numbers are looking very similar to last year’s.
If ET News’ roundup is correct, then we can expect the Galaxy S26 Pro to have the same 50MP primary lens, 12MP ultrawide lens, 10MP 3x telephoto lens, and front-facing 12MP lens as last year’s basic Galaxy S25. Not quite the upgrade we were hoping for when Samsung chose to slap “Pro” onto the end of its name.
It’s a similar story for the S26 Ultra, which will allegedly have a 200MP main lens, combined with a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a pair of telephoto lenses at 10MP and a 3x zoom, and a 50MP with a 5x zoom. Around the front, we’re looking at a 12MP selfie lens. Again, these are the same numbers as last year’s S25 Ultra, though it’s worth pointing out Samsung may have made some smaller tweaks not accounted for in the pure numbers. For instance, there’s the change to an f/1.4 aperture the main lens is rumored to get. That would be an upgrade for the camera, but it wouldn’t be mentioned in these particular specs.
The S26 Edge, this year’s middle model, is the only model to get a number bump, with the ultrawide lens going from 12MP to 50MP — but the main lens stays at 200MP, and the front-facing lens also stays static at 12MP.
Is this a disappointment from an upgrade perspective? Yes, we were hoping for something a little more transformative. While Samsung may have more for us in the smaller specs and AI tricks, it’s always sad to see a camera setup not getting some spec bumps. But on the flip side, it would be hard to say Samsung’s flagship phone cameras are bad, and keeping them in a similar place may show Samsung has confidence in its engineering for at least another year.
Of course, all of this is just speculation until Samsung officially confirms the specifications after launch. Still, stay tuned for more leaks as we get closer and closer to the new reveals in 2026.
