T-Mobile Will DoorDash You a New Phone to Speed Up Your Network Switch

In Las Vegas Thursday for the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, T-Mobile announced a new initiative called 15 Minutes to Better, designed to make the process of switching to T-Mobile from another mobile carrier speedy and simple. The program will be available in the company’s T-Life app starting Dec. 1.

“Becoming a new customer shouldn’t feel like a hassle,” said T-Mobile CEO Srini Gopalan, who took over the top job at the beginning of November, in a statement. “It’s crazy that you can get almost anything these days with a few easy taps on your phone, except wireless.”

Switching carriers is a significant decision, especially now, and T-Mobile is reaping the benefits. In its third-quarter 2025 earnings report, the company marked over 1 million new postpaid customers, while Verizon lost 7,000 (which could be one factor in it abruptly bringing on a new CEO). However, switching has also been a frustrating process, leading many people to stick with their current plans rather than exploring the nuances of alternative phone packages.

How 15 Minutes to Better will work

The key to 15 Minutes to Better is an AI feature, still technically in beta, called Easy Switch. In the T-Life app, you can log in to your current Verizon or AT&T plan, and Easy Switch will identify the best match from T-Mobile’s offerings, according to the company.

If you’ve decided it’s time to switch providers but you’re waiting for a new phone to be released or a big sales event to kick off, you have up to 90 days to follow through on that commitment.

T-Mobile is also adding same-day delivery of new devices and accessories using DoorDash Drive, starting with select T-Mobile stores in major US cities. Same-day delivery is also available for current customers, not just those switching.

Speaking of DoorDash, the company is also bringing back the free DashPass by DoorDash service, but enrollment is open from just Nov. 25 to Dec. 2. And because that follows the Thanksgiving holiday in the US, you can get a free pie with your next grocery delivery of at least $12.

    What’s the F1 tie-in?

The new feature is being rolled out in Vegas, but not because it gives T-Mobile the chance to capitalize on speed and racing puns. The company is the Exclusive 5G Partner of the Las Vegas Grand Prix (and a sponsor of the McLaren Formula 1 Team), a partnership it’s extending with Formula 1 through 2028. Also, T-Mobile will be the 5G Innovation Partner of Formula 1 in North America, starting with the US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, in 2026.
