Sony’s State of Play on Wednesday featured big news about new games coming out next year, including the long-awaited release date for Wolverine. The show also featured the debut of speakers for the PS5, PC and PlayStation Portal, Pulse Elevate.
The new wireless speakers are intended to handle all of a gamer’s audio needs. They use Bluetooth, but incorporate PlayStation Link (used by the Portal) to provide ultra-low latency and lossless connectivity, for minimal delay while gaming.
Sony says the Pulse Elevate speakers will feature “lifelike sounds” and integrate woofers to deliver the bass. They will also have a built-in mic with AI-enhanced noise rejection for voice chat.
Bluetooth connectivity means they can connect to PC and Mac wirelessly but will have a PlayStation Link USB adapter for plugging the audio device into a USB-C port. The Pulse Elevate speakers are also portable, with a built-in rechargeable battery. There will also be an option to adjust the EQ and sidetone settings.
The Pulse Elevate are the latest audio accessories from Sony designed to work with the PS5. In 2023, Sony released the Pulse Explore earbuds, and then last year, it released the Pulse Elite wireless headset.
Sony didn’t reveal the price of the Pulse Elevate speakers, but says they will arrive sometime next year.
