We reported only a few days ago that Samsung was having a strong year for phone sales, with the company selling three million of its flagship S25 range in Korea. Now, leaked documents claimed to be from Samsung have shown just how many of its new range Samsung has sold this year (via Android Authority).
According to seasoned Samsung leaked IceUniverse, while sales of the S25 Edge might have fallen under expectations, the phone played a key role in pushing the S25’s phone sales above 20 million in the year up to June.
All S25 phones have proven more popular than the last generation
The Ultra continues to be the most popular model
The sales numbers, posted on X by IceUniverse, show strong sales for the Galaxy S25 range, year-on-year, when compared to the same period for the Galaxy S24. The basic Galaxy S25 has increased sales by 630,000 units, the Plus by 270,000 units, and the Ultra by 640,000 units. As usual, the Ultra was the sales leader for the flagship range, ending up with an incredible 9,640,000 sales across the year to the end of June, account for almost half of the entire sales of the S25 range. The basic S25 comes in second with 6,070,00 devices sold, while the Plus brings up the rear with a still respectable 3,850,000 sales.
The S25 Edge is also included on the chart, and it sits at a relatively small 650,000 units sold. However, when you consider this device launched midway through May and the chart only runs up to the end of June, this is a decent showing. It’s possible Samsung expected more out of it though, which may be unfair for a phone released outside of Samsung’s usual upgrade cycle. Notably, it helped push Samsung’s numbers above 20 million for the period — a hefty number.
It’s important to note that, outside its promotion by known leaker IceUniverse, we have no idea how reliable these numbers actually are. As such, we would caution against treating this as an absolute truth. However, it does largely marry up with other rumors about Samsung’s sales this year, and it helps to shed some light on Samsung’s rumored decision to axe the Galaxy Plus brand in favor of including the Edge in the mainline S26 range. If the numbers posted by IceUniverse are correct, then the Plus has been the lowest selling S-range handset over two generations. If that is the case, it’s easy to see why Samsung would want to give the range a shakeup.
