The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra’s curvier design has leaked several times now. It’s all but confirmed that Samsung will further round the edges of its upcoming Ultra flagship phone to improve ergonomics. Now, new renders give us a clearer idea of just how much more curved it will be by comparing the S26 Ultra’s corner radius angle with that of the S25 Ultra and other premium flagships.
Leaker @UniverseIce shared an image showing screen protectors of the Galaxy S26 Ultra and iPhone 17 Pro Max side by side. The picture makes it clear that despite the higher corner radius angle on the S26 Ultra, the iPhone 17 Pro Max will feature rounder edges.
While this might not seem like a big deal, the bigger corner radius helps improve the phone’s pocketability and ergonomics. This is especially important on large phones like the S26 Ultra and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Another image shared by the leaker shows how the S26 Ultra will feature a higher corner radius than the S25 Ultra. If you liked the S25 Ultra’s rounded edges, the S26 Ultra doubles down on it.
Yes, it won’t be close to the iPhone and other Android flagships such as the OnePlus 13, but coming from the boxy S24 Ultra, it should be a nice improvement.
Surprisingly, Samsung will take the opposite route with the entry-level Galaxy S26 model. It will supposedly feature less rounded edges, though this should not create an ergonomic issue, as it’s a relatively compact phone.
Galaxy S26 might launch later than usual
If you are all hyped about the Galaxy S26, you may have to wait a month or two extra to get your hands on it. Over the last few years, Samsung has brought forward the launch timeline of its flagship Galaxy phones.
The company unveiled the S25 lineup in the third week of January this year, and it hit retail stores a couple of weeks later. That won’t be the case with the S26 family, though, as Samsung will seemingly only officially unveil it in late February 2026.
