Samsung made a big design change with the Galaxy S25 Ultra this year, ditching its squarish, sharp edges in favor of rounded corners for better ergonomics. While subtle, this tweak significantly improves the phone’s in-hand feel. With the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Samsung will seemingly make the corners more curved.

One common complaint about Samsung’s Ultra flagships in recent years has been their in-hand feel. Due to the squarish design, the likes of the S22 Ultra and S23 Ultra feature sharp edges. This makes them difficult to hold, especially with one hand, as the sharp corners dig into one’s palm. The sharp corners also made it harder to slip the phone into a jeans pocket.

Almost all other major flagship Android phones feature rounded edges to avoid these problems.

Samsung addressed this problem to a great extent with the S25 Ultra, as its rounded corners almost put an end to such issues. Now, it seems that with the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra, the company will take things further, making the four corners even more rounded. This should further improve the in-hand feel and ergonomics. It also aligns well with the phone’s rumored thinner design, giving it a sleeker look.

Galaxy S26 Ultra may bring minor changes that matter

Samsung’s Galaxy S26 lineup is still at least five months away from launch, but recent leaks have already detailed many of its big changes.

The Ultra model will retain the same 5,000mAh battery as previous Ultras, but it could make up for it with faster 60W wired charging. And while Samsung will stick to the same 200MP HP2 primary camera sensor for another year, it will supposedly pair it with a brighter f/1.4 aperture.

For comparison, the S25 Ultra’s main camera features an f/1.7 aperture. The wider aperture should allow for significantly more light intake, helping improve low-light pictures. Even the 3x 10MP telephoto camera could see a resolution bump to 50MP, delivering sharper detail.

Another wild rumor claims Samsung could use a new “Flex Magic Pixel” OLED panel on the Galaxy S26 Ultra that will use AI to keep your display more private.
