Oppo took the wraps off its Find X9 series today and we managed to get hold of a Find X9 unit after the event. While we did not get to perform our usual set of tests and benchmarks just yet, we did get to use the device for a short period of time, and these are our first impressions.
Find X9 feels excellent in-hand. Oppo really nailed the fit and finish here with the aluminum frame having that cold and premium feeling, while the matte glass back feels smooth to the touch and prevents fingerprint build-up.
There are three colors to choose from with Titanium Grey, Space Black and Velvet Red. The red one is quite eye-catching, as you can see in the images below, and is our favorite hue from the bunch.
At 7.99mm and 203 grams, Find X9 is not the slimmest phone we’ve held but it certainly feels solid. The buttons are quite tactile, and you’ll also notice the new customizable Snap Key, which is Oppo’s take on Apple’s Action Button.
The 6.59-inch flat OLED screen is just as big as the one on last year’s Find X8 but the 1.15mm thin bezels give off the illusion of holding an even larger screen. It’s quite bright and offers a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate just like you’d expect from an Android flagship in 2025.
Around the back, we find a trio of 50MP cameras. The main uses the same LYT-808 sensor found on last year’s Find X8 Pro. You also get a 73mm equivalent periscope with 3x optical zoom, which is reused from the Find X8, and a 15mm ultrawide module.
This year’s model also gets a new 9-channel multispectral sensor, which Oppo calls the True Color Camera.
Rounding out the specs, the phone is equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 alongside 12/16GB RAM and up to 1TB of storage. You also get IP66, IP68, and IP69 ingress protection and a beefed-up 7,025mAh silicon-carbon anode battery, which should deliver ample running times.
The software side is covered by the brand-new ColorOS 16 based on Android 16.
Oppo already confirmed that the X9 and X9 Pro will get their global launch later this month where we’ll learn its international pricing.
