New rumor claims the Samsung Galaxy S26 Pro doesn’t exist

For a while now, we’ve been hearing rumors about how Samsung will call the Galaxy S25’s successor Galaxy S26 Pro. So many rumors, in fact, that it pretty much seemed like a given.

Now a new rumor claims the exact opposite: there is no Galaxy S26 Pro, the Galaxy S25’s successor will be called Galaxy S26. And it will be launching alongside the Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra, as usual.

For some time, the Galaxy S26 Edge was rumored to be replacing the Galaxy S26+, which was allegedly cancelled, but recently we heard it’s actually the other way round – the Galaxy S26 Edge is cancelled due to its predecessor’s dismal sales numbers, and the S26+ is alive and well and coming along with the other two members of the family.

We’re not sure what to make of all of these conflicting rumors – people could just be making stuff up, of course, but there’s also a chance that all of this confusion comes right from Samsung itself. It may have changed course a few times in the development of its next flagship smartphone series, but if that’s true then it paints a weird picture of a company that isn’t very sure what to do. If this is accurate, and that’s definitely a big if, it’s not a good look.

The Galaxy S26 will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 2600 SoC in many markets, just like the S26+. Since its cameras will remain unchanged from the S25, the main upgrade in the S26 will be the 4,300 mAh battery (up from 4,000 mAh on its predecessor).
