Last month, a rumor told us to expect a price hike across the board for the upcoming iPhone 17 family, except for the entry-level ‘vanilla’ iPhone 17.
Today, a leaker in China purports to bring a new piece of the puzzle. According to him, the iPhone 17 Pro’s rumored $50 price hike will sting a little less, because Apple will apparently move to 256GB base storage.
To say that this has been a long time coming would be a massive understatement, but in 2025 Apple is finally moving away from 128GB base models in its Pro iPhones (we assume the Pro Max will get the same treatment).
Thus, the 256GB iPhone 17 Pro will be $50 more expensive than the 256GB iPhone 16 Pro. According to the latest rumor on the matter, Apple is going to unveil the iPhone 17 family at a special event taking place on September 9. It’s then expected to release the new devices on September 19.
