Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus celebrates with the winners trophy after defeating Jessica Pegula of the United States to win the Women's Singles Final on Day Thirteen of the 2024 US Open at USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on September 07, 2024 in the Flushing neighborhood of the Queens borough of New York City.

Watch US Open 2025 live streams, as Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka defend their Flushing Meadows titles in tennis’ final grand slam of the year. The tournament runs from Sunday, August 24 and runs through to Sunday, September 7.

Sinner will start as favorite to defend his men’s title, but the Italian’s withdrawal with illness when 5-0 down to Carlos Alcaraz in last week’s Cincinnati Open final adds an element of extra intrigue to proceedings, were that even necessary. The 24-year-old is only one point in the French Open from holding all four grand slams at the same time, but must recover quickly from his malaise in Ohio if he’s to pick up a fifth major from the last six.

Alcaraz is likely to again be the biggest challenger, but Ben Shelton’s Montreal Open win was the 22-year-old’s first Masters 1000 tournament triumph and the American lefty will have the home crowd with him throughout at Flushing Meadows. Taylor Fritz is another home hopeful, while 2024 semifinalist Jack Draper will look to go deep after disappointing at Wimbledon. Novak Djokovic hasn’t played since injury problems at SW19, but the Serbian will hope to win the 25th major singles title of his career to go beyond Margaret Court’s record.

Defending women’s champion Sabalenka has had a nearly year in 2025, finishing as runner-up at the Australian and French Opens and losing unexpectedly to Amanda Anisimova in the Wimbledon semifinal. No one possesses the Belarusian’s shot-making abilities, though, if she can put her best form on court.

Iga Swiatek is arguably the form horse. The reigning Wimbledon champion won her sole Flushing Meadows title in 2022 and also took the crown at the Cincinnati Open last week. The Pole boasts a great record over the rest of the field, too.

Coco Gauff, the 2023 winner and conqueror of Sabalenka at Roland Garros in June, has just ditched her coach Matt Daly after struggling at Wimbledon and in the North American hard court season, hitting double fault after double fault. Jessica Pegula, Emma Navarro and Australian Open champion Madison Keys will also lead the home charge.

Look out, too, for 18-year-old Mirra Andreeva, who beat Sabalenka in the final of Indian Wells earlier this year and has the game to do damage. Emma Raducanu, the surprise 2021 champion, will look to use those positive memories to go deep, with new coach Francisco Roig, once Rafael Nadal’s mentor, in her corner.
