Google Pixel sales continue to surge as the brand sets new record

Google’s Pixel line wasn’t an overnight success, with the brand stumbling for years to get the hardware right. But it’s now finally reaping the spoils as it continues to see sales numbers surge for its latest devices.

Just last month, reported that the Pixel 10 series was the quickest growing premium smartphone line on the market, and now, we’re getting news that sales numbers for Pixel phones have seen a huge surge, reaching new heights like never seen before.

    An impressive showing by Google

Counterpoint Research is once again delivering some impressive data here, sharing that Pixel sales in the US have hit a record high of 28%, when compared to sales from the previous year. Again, Pixel sales have been steady, but the Pixel 10 series really pushed the numbers up dramatically, delivering an fantastic outing for Google.

In addition to the sales numbers above, Counterpoint Research also shares that Google is also making some moves in the premium phone category ($600+), gaining a 6.1% share in September 2025. While this might already sound outstanding, the number is monumental when compared to numbers from 2022, which Pixel only had 0.1%.

What’s even more impressive is that the smartphone market has become tougher to compete in over the past few years, mainly because technology has stagnated, introducing fewer innovations, leaving people with not many reasons to upgrade over previous models. Of course, while the hardware might be the same old, the software side has progressed quite a bit.

Android has seen some major changes with its recent updates, along with the introduction of AI tools. These elements are what’s really been keeping things moving. Google’s use of Gemini in nearly every facet of Android and its own apps is what people have come to expect. And while not every single implementation is good, we’ve seen some interesting stuff even in its early stages.

With that said, Apple is still the market leader when it comes to phones overall, and Samsung still remains the leader when it comes to Android phones. However, Google is slowing inching its way up, and getting closer and closer to eclipsing Samsung. Samsung has dominated Android for quite some time, but it’s relaxed outlook over the past few years when it comes to designs really set it back.

Now, it’s too early to count out Samsung, and it has even dropped some alluring designs this year with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy S25 Edge. So this isn’t going to be an easy win for Google. But if what we’re seeing is any indication, Pixel is really picking up steam, and it could be in the top spot in just a number of years if it plays its cards right.
