There were plenty of new smartphone launches on the other side of the ocean in the last couple of weeks, but the US market has been pretty quiet. That doesn’t mean there aren’t any discounts this week, of course.

This is probably not a good sign – the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is under $700 for a 256GB unit and the upgrade to 512GB is only $40. Never mind the S25+ (which is out of stock on Amazon, anyway), the S25 Edge is now cheaper than the vanilla Galaxy S25! Unless you settle for the 128GB S25, which you probably shouldn’t.

Despite their different sizes – 6.7” screen on the Edge and 6.2” on the vanilla phone – they weigh basically the same at 163g. Unfortunately, their batteries are pretty similar too, 3,900mAh/4,000mAh. On the plus side, the Edge gets you a 200MP main camera, something that was previously reserved for the Ultra.

    Samsung Galaxy S25

Speaking of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, its price has been pretty stable at around $1,000 – under if you can live with 256GB storage, over if you need 512GB. Here’s how the S25 Ultra and S25 Edge compare.

    Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra

While the vanilla S25 has its petite size as an advantage, the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE is taller and wider than the S25 Edge – thicker (7.4mm vs. 5.8mm) and heavier too (190g vs. 163g), of course. So, the FE price probably has to drop even lower since there’s only $40 separating the 256GB models. The FE is a solid mid-ranger, but its 1080p+ display and year-old Exynos 2400 chipset don’t compare well with the 1440p+ display and Snapdragon 8 Elite of the premium Edge.

The OnePlus 15 launched in China and it is surely headed for a global release, but when it might be available in the US is anyone’s guess. Meanwhile, the OnePlus 13 is having a last hurrah with a solid discount, especially on the 512GB unit.

    OnePlus 13

There’s no 15R yet, not officially, anyway (OnePlus did unveil the Ace 6). So, the OnePlus 13R costing $533 for a 256GB unit looks like a better deal than the S25 FE. It uses a year-old chipset too, but it’s the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. And the 6.78” display has a higher 1264p+ resolution (both are LTPO). The telephoto camera wins on resolution (50MP vs. 8MP) but has a shorter focal length (2x/47mm vs. 3x/75mm). On the plus side, you get a larger battery (6,000mAh vs. 4,900mAh) and fast wired charging (80W vs. 45W), even if you lose wireless charging (15W on the FE).

    OnePlus 13R

Apple recently unveiled new iPad Pros with the latest M5 chipset – those became available last week and are already sporting a $50 discount. It’s not much, but it’s more than new Apple products typically get.

The revamped Apple MacBook Pro 2025 14.2” laptop also brings M5 power and a $50 discount.

If you want an Android tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE and Tab S10 FE+ come in 10.9” and 13.1” sizes with 90Hz IPS LCDs. Now, these are FE tablets so they have mid-range power with an Exynos 1580. Still, they are fast enough for DeX multitasking.

We are currently reviewing the CMF Headphone Pro and early impressions are quite good. These cheap over-ear headphones have solid build quality, good sound and capable noise cancellation. Cheap as they are, $100 normally, they are even cheaper now with a $16 discount.

    CMF Headphone Pro

You can also have a look at the Nothing Headphone (1) – those cost $300 (no discount at the moment), so there’s a vast chasm between them and the CMF. They sure are stylish, even if their style isn’t for everyone, and are quite capable. Still, at over 3x the price, they are a tough sell over the CMF Headphone Pro.
