Deals: Samsung Galaxy S25 FE and Tab S11 series arrive, face tough competition

Samsung announced the Galaxy S25 FE this week, a more affordable variant of its flagship S-series. Also new this week are flagship tablets, the Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra. Let’s have a look at what kind of offers are available.

There’s no pre-order for the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, the phone went on sale immediately. You can pick up a unit right now with £50 off at checkout and a free Galaxy Watch7 (40mm).

You could go for last year’s Galaxy S24 FE instead – currently, the 128GB model can be had for £100 less than the S25 FE. There’s no free watch, though. Here’s what the new model brings over the old one.

Samsung shaved 23g off the weight of the new FE and 0.6mm off the thickness (to 190g and 7.4mm). At the same time, the company increased the battery capacity to 4,900mAh (+200mAh). Not just that, wired charging rate was boosted to 45W (0-65% in 30 min, compared to 0-50% in 30 min on the old FE) and wireless to 25W (up from 25W and 15W, respectively). Also, the regular Exynos 2400 chipset (instead of the 2400e) has higher clock speeds.

Alternatively, you could look at the Galaxy S25+, but there are no offers on that model this week.

There’s another FE phone, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 FE. If you are a Prime Student subscriber, you can get it down to just £50 more than the S25 FE. Either way, you get the free Watch7 40mm. This model also uses the Exynos 2400 chipset and has a 6.7” 1080p+ LTPO OLED display. Flip phones are more compact than rigid phones with the same size screen. Battery capacity is an issue, though – this one has a 4,000mAh battery with 25W wired and 15W wireless charging.

A cheaper Samsung with a 6.7” 1080p+ OLED display (non-LTPO) is the Galaxy A56. Its Exynos 1580 is no match for the 2400, however. Also, it misses the dedicated telephoto camera, keeping only a 50MP main and a 12MP ultra-wide.

The OnePlus 13 is close to the S25 FE price range too, just £50 more if you are looking at 256GB models (but you don’t get a watch). This one has a sharper 6.82” 1440p+ LTPO display and a current Snapdragon 8 Elite. Also, it has a triple 50MP camera on the back that includes a 3x/73mm periscope. The 6,000mAh battery supports both 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.

    OnePlus 13

The Poco F7 Ultra is actually cheaper than the S25 FE while also offering a Snapdragon 8 Elite like the OnePlus. The 50MP telephoto camera on this one is only a 2.5x/60mm unit, but it might still be better than the 8MP 3x/75mm unit on the Samsung. Plus, the 6.67” OLED display has higher resolution (1440p+) and brightness (3,200 nits peak vs. 1,900 nits). The battery is only a bit bigger at 5,300mAh, but it supports both 120W wired and 50W wireless charging.

    Poco F7 Ultra

The Poco F7 Pro is a lot cheaper than the Samsung, while retaining the 6.67” 1440p+ display of its Ultra sibling. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 inside the Pro is a contemporary of the Exynos 2400 inside the Galaxy. You get a more basic camera with this one (50MP main + 8MP ultra-wide, no tele) but also a larger 6,000mAh battery with 90W wired-only charging.

    Poco F7 Pro

Also this week, Samsung launched a new generation of its flagship tablet series – this one with 11” and 14.6” models, but no 12.4”. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 has an 11” 120Hz OLED display, 8,400mAh battery and a Dimensity 9400+ chipset.

    Samsung Galaxy Tab S11

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra uses the same chip, but it’s paired with a larger 14.6” 120Hz OLED display and an 11,600mAh battery. Both Tab S11 models get £50 off at checkout and a free Book Cover Keyboard for a more laptop-like experience. Students can get a £100 (vanilla) or £150 (Ultra) coupon.

    Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra

Another recent arrival in the tablet space is the Honor MagicPad 2 12.3. As the name suggests, it has a 12.3” 144Hz OLED display. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and a 10,050mAh battery.
