This GPU is so big, it comes with a sag detector to protect your mobo

Graphics cards are getting bigger and bigger, ballooning out with massive casings and coolers to augment the ever-more-powerful chips inside. The oversized Asus ROG Matrix RTX 5090 Anniversary Edition might be the biggest consumer model out there, and it’s so big it practically demands an elaborate mount setup. The latest update to Asus software even includes a “Level Sense” sag detector.

According to the patch notes for the branded GPU Tweak software program, Level Sense has now been extended to the ROG Matrix Platinum 5090 30th Anniversary Edition, a bombastic, oversized card that we covered before. As VideoCardz notes, this isn’t the first Asus GPU to include the feature—it actually debuted earlier in 2025 for the similarly expensive Astral series of cards. But there it had an “Equipment Installation Check” name that was less eye-catching.

Apparently the Astral cards, and presumably the newer Matrix version, are using an internal chip from Bosh Sensortech that detects the angle at which the card is hanging perpendicular. We’re not talking a bubble level here—it’s sensitive enough to detect changes as small as 1/10th of a degree, and alert you if you’re off. The goal, of course, is to get your card installed at 90 degrees relative to the motherboard and case.

Both the ROG Astral series and the new Matrix Anniversary Edition cards come with GPU support brackets in the box, a move that’s becoming increasingly common. You also get a “BTF Adapter” for the fanciest of Asus motherboards, a keycap for your mechanical keyboard, a magnet (imagine a free magnet in a computer component box 30 years ago!), a set of playing cards, a ruler, and a thank you card. For a graphics card that’s almost certain to cost north of $3,000 USD, I suppose a thank you from Asus is definitely in order.
