These iPhone Settings Helped Me Cut Down on Screen Time

My phone is pretty much glued to my hand from the second I wake up until the second I fall asleep, and I feel like my brain is turning into marbles because of it. I have a problem: I look at my iPhone way too much.

In this week’s episode of Prove It, which you can watch embedded above, I try to curb my screen time by turning on some iOS 18 wellness features. Yes, I know iOS 26 is out… but I haven’t updated yet. I’m using an iPhone 12 Mini. Can implementing time limits on some of my biggest screen-time-consuming apps help solve the issue? I wanted to set up a downtime routine to help me form new habits where I no longer start and end my day with my iPhone in my hand — and hopefully unglue myself from social media. Are these features and timers, which can be bypassed with a simple click of a button, strong enough to get me to put the phone down?

I’m on a constant hunt for ways to break up my constant social media use, and earlier this year, I spent a day using the Light Phone 3 instead of my iPhone. If you’re interested in dumb phones, you should watch the video.
