Mint Mobile is known for its cheap and reliable cellular service that starts at just $15/month. But it’s now looking to expand its footprint, as it has formally teased its new home internet service on a very big stage. The brand, known for its less than traditional marketing, dropped a quick ad during Jimmy Kimmel Live!

The ad delivers a bit of a twist from Mint Mobile’s usual style, where spokesperson Ryan Reynolds typically takes the reins. Instead, most of the introduction on this commercial is performed by Guillermo Rodriguez from Jimmy Kimmel Live!

If the price is right, this could be worth looking into

The two have a quick back and forth about Mint Mobile’s upcoming home internet service, which may or may not be called ‘Minternet’ when launched. While there’s some comedy here to enjoy, there isn’t really too much information about the service.

The ad closes by sharing that it’s coming soon, and there’s even a URL you can navigate to get more information, but it doesn’t look to be active quite yet. While Mint Mobile hasn’t offered a home internet service of its own, it has partnered with its parent company, T-Mobile, in the past to provide its users with T-Mobile home internet service at a discounted rate.

In this exclusive deal, there were three different plans available, with the base plan starting at $35/month, a mid-tier plan for $45/month, and a top-tier plan that costs $55/month. The higher tiers offered the same internet as the base plan, but threw in better equipment, security software, and other perks.

It will be interesting to see how Mint Mobile navigates these waters, considering that the competition is quite fierce right now. Most wireless carriers are getting deep into home internet service, with multiple brands investing in 5G and fiber. Hopefully, we’ll have more news soon, because cheap home internet could be a game-changer if the price is right.
