Google Home is an absolute must if you want one central location to control and monitor all your connected devices. While convenient, primary interactions with Google Home for the most part relied on having a device close to you, since only the app could deliver the best experience.

With that said, Google has now issued a new update for Home that brings more robust features to the web. Google shares that the web versions of Home and Nest are now more optimized for use on larger screens. In addition, users will now be able to use the script editor to edit automations, check multiple livestreams and Nest cameras.

    Same great controls from anywhere

If you’ve never experimented with Google Home on web, it’s now a good time to give it a try. You simply navigate to ‘home.google.com/’ and log into your account using the same credentials you use for Google Home. Logging in will give you a variety of options to control the devices that are connected to your account.

As stated previously, you’ll now have the ability to see all your cameras, which is highly convenient when you need to quickly check what’s going on at your home or office. You’ll also have the option to create and download clips, use 2-way talk, and even check the battery life of your cameras. Again, doing this on a large screen is going to be a game changer for some people.

You’ll be able to run automations, and if you really want to get deep, we recommend getting familiar with the script editor in order to get more granular control of your devices. And just in case you need some ideas for home automations, we recommend checking out the three we use to improve our sleep quality.

While this update to Google Home on web might seem minor, it’s a pretty big deal considering it provides another way to really control your devices. So if, for some reason, you don’t have a device around with you, you can always just log into your account on a browser and start checking in on your connected home and devices.

Of course, you’re free to stick with the app on your phone or tablet, which might be more convenient for those that don’t want to deal with the hassle.

Finally Google Home longawaited Upgrade webs
