    • Google has a new way to let you customize your search results
    • The new ‘preferred source’ option in Top Stories is now live in the US
    • Here’s how to set TechRadar as one of your favorite sources

Staying on top of the latest tech news can be a brain-spinning challenge, but reading TechRadar is one of the best ways to do it – and Google has just launched a new Search feature to help you see more of our expert stories.

Google’s new Preferred Sources feature lets you customize which sites appear in the Top Stories section of your search results. That’s a good thing because it lets you fine-tune the sites that appear in those news carousels, so the most trustworthy sites – like TechRadar – show up more frequently.

Our many in-house tech experts write about the most exciting new launches and best tech deals on a daily basis, so making TechRadar one of your preferred Top Stories sources is (in our unbiased opinion) a very good idea indeed.

So how do you do it? The easiest way is to simply go to this Google Search preferences link, where you can add TechRadar to your list of preferred sources (the feature is currently only live in the US and India).

But if you’d rather do it while you’re out searching for tech news, here’s the other way to set it up…

    1. Search for tech news on Google

Search for a tech product or topic that’s been in the news lately – this should give you a ‘Top stories’ box at the top of your results.

Google’s new ‘Preferred Sources’ logo (a little star in a box) will appear to the right of the Top Stories banner, as you can see in the image above. Click or tap on this icon and you’ll be taken to the Preferred Sources screen.

Sign up for breaking news, reviews, opinion, top tech deals, and more.

    2. Find TechRadar and your other favorite sites

Search for ‘TechRadar’ and your other favorite sites in this search box, then check the box next to its name to add the site to your list of Preferred Sources.

    3. Refresh the results

Finished adding TechRadar and your other favorite tech sites to Preferred Sources? Now just click the ‘Reload results’ button at the bottom of the list and you’ll see your new Top Stories section.

From now on, Google will make sure your favorite sites will be among the top results when you do a search for tech news. If you’re a regular Google News junkie too, make sure to follow TechRadar on Google News too by clicking the ‘follow’ button there.

And of course you can also follow TechRadar on TikTok for news, reviews, unboxings in video form, and get regular updates from us on WhatsApp too.
