Make any outlet controllable with your phone with this $20 smart plug

Smart appliances are great since you can control them from your phone, but a lot of them are just too expensive. If you aren’t ready to replace your “dumb” appliances with smart upgrades yet, here’s a more affordable first step you can try: grab an Amazon Smart Plug for just $20 while it’s currently 20% off with this limited-time deal.

Amazon Smart Plugs are really simple. All you have to do is plug it into an outlet, then plug any device into the smart plug itself. Then, using an app on your phone, you can remotely control the smart plug and toggle it on and off from anywhere. Using Alexa routines, you can even schedule and automate via rules. Boom! Any dumb device can be “smart” now.

For example, you can smart plug your coffee machine and have it automatically start in the morning, or you can smart plug your main living room lamp so you can turn it off without getting out of bed. Another idea is to connect your Christmas lights to a smart plug and have them turn on and off at certain times of day without any intervention.

These Amazon Smart Plugs are nice because they’re compact and don’t block the other outlet when plugged in, and you can even plug two of them in on the same outlet plate if you want to. Get one for just $20, or grab several and place them around your home!

Start your foray into smart home control with this $20 plug
