Honor doesn’t shy away from showcasing the toughness of its Magic V5 foldable. The company already demonstrated the phone’s ability to endure heavy rain, extreme temperatures, and even steel balls fired at it. Now, the Magic V5 has gone a step further, securing a new Guinness World Record to reaffirm its durability.
The Honor Magic V5 has set a Guinness World Record for the heaviest weight lifted by a suspended foldable phone. As per the official record, the smartphone managed to lift 104kg.
An 84kg refrigerator along with 20kg of weighted plates were tied to the center of the Magic V5 using a cloth strap to showcase the strength of its ‘Super Steel Hinge’.
The hinge on the phone is claimed to withstand up to 500,000 folds as well. As per the company, the hinge has a tensile strength of 2300MPa.
The Honor Magic V5 is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC and features 7.95-inch flexible AMOLED Full HD+ display. It gets a 6.43-inch AMOLED outer screen, a 5,820 mAh battery (global variant), and a triple rear camera setup with a 64 MP periscope telephoto sensor. The foldable weighs 217g and is 8.8mm thin when folded.
