    Introduction

The Redmi Note 14 models must be the most popular choice in the mid-range for their thoughtful segmentation and attractive pricing. And a while ago, Poco also launched its own interpretation of one particular Redmi – the Note 14 5G. Meet the Poco M7 Pro 5G.

The Poco M7 Pro 5G is essentially identical to the Redmi Note 14 5G except for the design and the rear camera setup.

Poco has always been keen on eye-catchy designs and the dual tone back panel on the back of the M7 Pro 5G is quite nice. You can get it in Lavender Frost, Lunar Dust, Olive Twilight, and there is a limited Classic Black version in some markets. The Poco is IP64-rated for dust and splash resistance.

    Poco M7 Pro 5G review

The Poco M7 Pro 5G has a 6.67-inch AMOLED with 1080p resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and support for HDR10+ streaming. It is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

The phone runs on the Dimensity 7025 5G chip that packs decent processor power but has a rather basic GPU. The starter version of the Poco M7 Pro 5G has 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

The only technical differences between this Poco and its Redmi counterpart are in the camera department. The Poco has a 50MP primary with OIS, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 20MP selfie imager. The Redmi had a 108MP main camera and an additional 8MP ultrawide shooter, which is now gone.

The M7 Pro is powered by a 5,110mAh with 45W fast charging. It boots Android 14 with HyperOS 1.

Xiaomi Poco M7 Pro 5G specs at a glance:

    • Body: 162.4×75.7×8.0mm, 190g; Glass front (Gorilla Glass 5), plastic back, plastic frame; IP64 dust-tight and water-resistant (water splashes).
    • Display: 6.67″ AMOLED, 120Hz, 960Hz PWM, HDR10+, 2100 nits (peak), Dolby Vision (India only), 1080x2400px resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, 395ppi.
    • Chipset: Mediatek Dimensity 7025 Ultra (6 nm): Octa-core (2×2.5 GHz Cortex-A78 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55); IMG BXM-8-256.
    • Memory: 128GB 6GB RAM, 256GB 8GB RAM, 256GB 12GB RAM, 512GB 12GB RAM; UFS 2.2; microSDXC (uses shared SIM slot).
    • OS/Software: Android 14, up to 2 (INT) / 4 (EU) major Android upgrades, HyperOS 1.0.
    • Rear camera: Wide (main): 50 MP, f/1.5, 26mm, 1/1.95″, 0.8µm, PDAF, OIS; Depth: 2 MP, f/2.4.
    • Front camera: 20 MP, f/2.2, 21mm (wide), 1/4.0″, 0.7µm.
    • Video capture: Rear camera: 1080p@30fps; Front camera: 1080p@30fps.
    • Battery: 5110mAh; 45W wired.
    • Connectivity: 5G; Wi-Fi 5; BT 5.0; NFC; FM radio (market/region dependent); Infrared port; 3.5mm jack.
    • Misc: Fingerprint reader (under display, optical); stereo speakers (with Dolby Atmos); Virtual proximity sensing.

The Poco M7 Pro 5G seems like a good deal with an all-around specs sheet. We would have liked to see it boot Android 15 or at least get a more powerful GPU, though.

Unboxing the Poco M7 Pro 5G

The Poco M7 Pro has a well-stacked retail bundle. It ships together with a 45W charger, a USB cable, and a dark gray protective case.

The Poco also comes with a thin protective film already atop its screen.

The bundle varies by market, though, and the EU box does not contain a charger.
