Google Searches for ‘Taylor Swift’ Summon This Dazzling Easter Egg

If there’s one thing Taylor Swift loves, it’s an Easter egg, and Google Search is getting in on the fun.

Swift announced her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, soon after midnight ET on Tuesday, leading to an anticipated frenzy all over social media. But Google also clearly wants in on the excitement.

Doing a Google Search for “Taylor Swift” summons not only the standard slate of results — mostly articles about the upcoming album — but also a flurry of swirling orange confetti and sparkles descending upon the page. A flaming heart emoji also rises up from the bottom, with the text, “And, baby, that’s show business for you.”

Even after the heart completes its ascent, another one stays stationed on the page, and clicking it sets off another flurry of confetti. It appears to be counting the number of times it’s triggered, with that number currently sitting at just over 27 million.

Anticipation for a new album began in earnest on Monday after Taylor Nation posted a carousel of photos on Instagram featuring Swift in orange outfits on the Eras Tour with the caption, “Thinking about when she said ‘See you next era….'” Later that evening, Swift’s official website began counting down until 12:12 a.m. ET, after which it displayed pre-order options for the new album.

The Life of a Showgirl’s release date, track list and cover art have yet to be revealed. However, the shipping details for the vinyl, cassette and CD versions specify that they’ll ship “before 10/13/2025,” with the caveat that “This is not the release date.”

Swift is slated to appear on the New Heights podcast, which is hosted by her boyfriend and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce. That episode drops on Wednesday and is sure to include more details about the upcoming album. A short teaser was posted to Instagram early Tuesday morning.

In the meantime, Google’s Search Easter egg offers a fun and anticipatory distraction as we await what’s in store.
